What you get when you hire us.

Every job includes a written quote up front, code-compliant work, and an inspection-passed finish. No surprise fees and no upsell pressure.

Electrical Panel Upgrades

Half-day – full-day

An aging panel limits what your home can do. Upgrading to a 200-amp service is the foundation for EV charging, hot tubs, electric ranges, finished basements, and additions.

  • 100A · 200A · 400A service upgrades
  • Code-compliant breaker selection (Square D, Eaton, Siemens)
  • Service entrance cable replacement if needed
  • Utility coordination for meter pull & reset
  • Permit pulled and inspection coordinated

Level 2 EV Charger Install

2–4 hours typical

A proper Level 2 install needs a dedicated 240V circuit. We confirm your panel has the capacity, size the breaker, run the wire, and mount the charger where you want it.

  • Hardwired or NEMA 14-50 outlet installations
  • Tesla Wall Connector, ChargePoint, Wallbox, Grizzl-E
  • Load calculation to confirm panel capacity
  • Garage, driveway, and outdoor-rated installs
  • Permit and inspection when required

Whole-Home Surge Protection

1–2 hours

A Type-2 SPD at the main panel catches voltage spikes before they reach anything plugged into your home. Cheap insurance against power surges from utility events or nearby lightning.

  • UL-listed Type-2 surge protective devices
  • Installed directly at your main service panel
  • Protects everything downstream — not just one outlet
  • Manufacturer warranty on the SPD itself
  • Often added during a panel upgrade for less labor cost

Frequently asked

Electrical work, questions answered.

It depends on the work. Replacing a light fixture or outlet generally doesn't require a permit. New circuits, panel upgrades, service changes, EV chargers, and most commercial work do. When a permit is required, we pull it — it's part of doing the job right and protects you when you sell the house.
A straightforward 100A-to-200A service upgrade is usually half a day to a full day on site, plus utility coordination to pull and reset the meter. Add another 1–2 weeks for permits and inspection scheduling. We'll give you a clear timeline up front.
Most older Northeast Ohio homes still have 100A or 150A service, which is enough for basic electrical loads. 200A is the modern standard and what we recommend if you have (or plan to have) electric appliances, an EV charger, a hot tub, central AC, or a finished basement. 400A is for very large homes or homes with major continuous loads — multiple EVs, a workshop, or an addition. We size your service to your real and projected load, not a guess.
Maybe. A Level 2 charger typically draws 40–48 amps at 240V. We do a load calculation on your existing panel to confirm there's capacity before installing. If your panel is already maxed out, we'll let you know honestly — sometimes a panel upgrade is the better long-term move, sometimes a load-managing charger is enough.
Power surges happen from utility events (transformers cycling, lightning strikes on the line) and from inside your home (large motors cycling on and off). A Type-2 SPD at your main panel catches surges before they reach your TVs, computers, HVAC controls, and appliances. Cheap insurance — usually $400–$700 installed, less if added during a panel upgrade.
Yes — light commercial work like office tenant fit-outs, retail buildouts, restaurants, salons, and small medical offices. We're not the right call for a 50,000 sq ft warehouse or industrial automation, but for a small business that needs new circuits, panel work, lighting design, or a code-compliant fit-out, we're a good fit.
Yes. JOBI Energy holds an Ohio electrical contractor license (OH Lic. #51785), is bonded, and carries full general liability and workers comp insurance. Documentation is available on request — we'll send it with your quote if you'd like.
